Mauricio Karchmer was born in Mexico. He played organized soccer through his youth up to his college years where he played for Deportivo Israelita in the top amateur/semi-professional league in Mexico City. While in college, Mauricio also coached his high school team for four years, with two inter-school championships to his credit.
More recently, Mauricio has been involved with different youth soccer programs in Brookline. He has partnered with Pedro Herivaux on several occasions. They coached together the undefeated U-9 Brookline Tigers in 2005. Since 2007, Mauricio has been Pedro's assistant coach for the Arsenal Soccer Club U12 team, the Valeo FC U13 team and the National President's Cup Champions U14 team in 2010. Mauricio will coach the U15s with Pedro in 2010/11.
